Kevin Durant on getting name-dropped on Drake’s new album: ‘It makes you feel like you made it’

“Views” is the fourth studio album released by Canadian rapper Drake. It was released April 29 and has 20 songs, including “Weston Road Flows” which mentions the Oklahoma City Thunder’s Kevin Durant in the lyrics.

A lot of people just hit me up when my name is mentioned. Shout out to KD we relate we get the same attention. It’s rainin’ money, Oklahoma City Thunder. The most successful rapper 35 and under.

Durant, who didn’t know about the lyric, said he was surprised.

“It’s a good, nice song,” Durant told reporters Monday. “Much more than my name drop but it’s a good song.”

“It kind of surprised me. When your favorite rapper puts your name in a song, it makes you feel like you made it.”

Drake tried to recruit Durant to come play for the Toronto Raptors at one of his concerts a while back but landed the Raptors a $25,000 fine instead. By putting him in a song, perhaps Drake is still trying to get KD to come to Toronto, especially with Durant set to become the biggest free agent this summer.
