Bosh reportedly urged the Heat to allow him to play in the team’s second-round playoff series against the Toronto Raptors, but ESPN’s Brian Windhorst reported that no team doctor would clear Bosh to play. It was revealed Feb. 15 that Bosh was dealing with blood clots that have since subsided, but the team was hesitant to let him play because of the potential dangers of the recurring medical condition.
Just spoke to a person in contact with Bosh. Said Bosh “had his heart ripped out” in February.
It’s such a sad story. It really is.

Doctors I’ve spoken with are split on whether two clotting events in a year means CB is prone to them. (more)

(Cont) One also told me today that if he has/had more clots than the leg one, the bigger immediate concern is the bloodthinner usage.

Bosh led the Heat in scoring during the regular season with 19.1 points per game in 53 appearances. He would have been of great help to his team in the postseason, but the Heat seem to be doing okay at the moment. Miami was able to steal Game 1 on the road Tuesday, beating the Raptors 102-96 in overtime.
It’s still a tough blow for the Heat, though, and for Bosh as well.
