Report: Kris Dunn’s agents trying to avoid teams with young, established point guards

Projected top-five pick Kris Dunn won’t have to wait long to hear his name called on draft night, but his agents would prefer he not go to a team with young, established point guards.

As reported by The Vertical’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Dunn’s camp did not submit him to get a physical at the NBA combine, so they will control which teams have access to his medical records. Teams like Boston and Phoenix, who hold the third and fourth pick and have young, established point guards, are “very likely” not going to get Dunn’s medical records, according to Wojnarowski. The Celtics and Suns can still draft Dunn, but they will have to do so without his medical records, a personal workout or interview.

It’s possible a team might be able to trade up with Boston or Phoenix to select Dunn, who compares to Washington Wizards All-Star John Wall. He’s quick, sees the floor well and has great size for the position (6’4″, 220).

Normally, prospects don’t get to choose which teams they get drafted by, but Dunn’s agents might have found a way around that by avoiding certain teams. We’ll see how this strategy works out for him.
