Broncos fans want Tim Tebow back

It’s Tim Tebow time in Denver.

Well, at least for a portion of the Broncos fanbase, as a petition has popped up for the team to bring back Tebow in the wake of Peyton Manning’s retirement.

The petition started on Change.org and has almost 4,000 supporters and reads as follows:

Coach Gary Kubiak’s offense would thrive with Tebow under center. He and the legendary John Elway can make this happen. We dont (sic) need a subpar throwaway from some other team, we need an original Bronco who has the fire, desire, and love of the game to play as a Bronco again! As a bonus the Bronco fans would be ecstatic! He just wins, we all know this! #TebowTime

Tebow is now 28 years old and enjoying life as a broadcaster for ESPN after taking his last NFL snap in 2002.

The Internet has responded in kind, with the Broncos’ Rich Kurtzman leading the charge:

Alas, this is what happens when your starting quarterback is Mark Sanchez. Folks have floated names such as Connor Cook or Paxton Lynch for the Broncos at No. 31 in Thursday’s NFL draft, but it’s clear some folks would rather, well, #TebowTime.

Draft day is always crazy so this shouldn’t come as a surprise. More than anything, it’s a surprise it took this long to happen.

Welcome back to the spotlight, Tebowmania.
