Von Miller: ‘I want to be a Bronco forever’

The Denver Broncos have yet to offer linebacker Von Miller the deal he wants, but that hasn’t changed his loyalty to the team.

Miller appeared on Netflix’s “Chelsea” to talk about his contract situation with Chelsea Handler, which, let’s be honest, isn’t the platform you’d usually think he’d discuss it on. That didn’t stop him from opening up about how the negotiating process has unfolded.

“I want to be a Bronco forever, I just want the feeling to be the same from the Broncos,” Miller said. “We still have a month. “I just can’t see myself…my boys T.J. Ward, Aqib Talib, Kayvon Webster, DeMarcus Ware, all those guys, I built very, very close relationships with all those guys and I would like to continue to build that for the rest of my career.”

Miller is saying all the right things, but it remains to be seen if the Broncos will offer him what he’s seeking. With Eagles DT Fletcher Cox recently signing a $103 million deal ($55.549 million guaranteed), who knows what Miller will be looking to get. He reportedly rejected a $114.5 million offer last week, and is clearly looking to be the highest paid defensive player in the league.

The Broncos linebacker is saying all the right things, but if his heart really is in Denver, he might have to curb his expectations and meet the team halfway during the negotiating process.
