Von Miller says there’s ‘no chance’ he plays under franchise tag in 2016

Von Miller, a contestant this spring on “Dancing With The Stars,” isn’t dancing around the issue when it comes to his feelings about playing under the franchise tag in 2016.

He said on Instagram Thursday that there’s “no chance” he’ll play this season for the $14.129 franchise tag tender.

The Broncos have until July 15 to work out a long-term deal with the Super Bowl MVP, according to NFL.com. That matter became a little more complicated, however, when Eagles defensive lineman Fletcher Cox signed a six-year, $103 million deal this week that includes $63 million in guaranteed money.

It’s likely that Miller will want at least that much guaranteed money, and if he doesn’t get what he wants, it’s looking more and more like he’s not afraid to sit out the season.

Late June and early July is the slowest time of the year for NFL news, but this drama could spice things up over the next month.
