Aqib Talib’s NFL dream got him into trouble with teacher

Many NFL players face league discipline every now and then, but Aqib Talib got into a little hot water with a teacher just for writing a paper about wanting to play in the NFL.

The Broncos cornerback returned two interceptions for touchdowns this season and helped Denver reach Super Bowl 50 by tipping Tom Brady’s two-point attempt in the final minute of the AFC championship game.

Talib said he began daydreaming about moments like that when he was 6. So sometime around fourth or fifth grade when he had to write about what he wanted to be when he grew up, Talib wrote about playing in the NFL, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

The teacher told Talib that he wanted the class to write about “really serious jobs.” Talib essentially fired back by saying that just because she had no chance to go to the NFL, it didn’t mean he wasn’t going.

“Got me a little in-school suspension for that,” Talib said.

Maybe Talib could have avoided a suspension if he had actually given his teacher a chance to run the 40-yard dash before saying that she’d never make it in the NFL.
