New York Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall has some work to do this offseason, not just on the practice field but on the scale.
As Marshall explained in a Twitter post Tuesday, head coach Todd Bowles told Marshall he wants him below 230 pounds for all of next season. According to Marshall, his average playing weight the past five years has been around 234-235 pounds. It’s not a lot of weight to lose in theory, but it can be for a 32-year-old with 10 years of tread on the tires.

Marshall looked rejuvenated his first year in New York, finishing fourth in receiving with 1,502 yards and 109 receptions. He also caught 14 touchdowns, a new career high for the former Broncos, Dolphins and Bears receiver.
If losing a littler bit of weight can keep him playing at that level, then Marshall has to go for it. Plus, that grouper and blueberries doesn’t look half bad.
