Aaron Gordon Out Indefinitely for the Magic

The Orlando Magic announced Sunday that rookie forward Aaron Gordon will be out indefinitely after fracturing his left foot in Saturday night’s game against the Washington Wizards.  Gordon fractured the fifth metatarsal in his foot.

He will be reevaluated further upon the Magic’s return to Orlando following their game Monday night against the Detroit Pistons.

Gordon was averaging 5.8 points in 15 minutes per game while flashing some of the athletic skills that prompted the franchise to draft him with the fourth overall pick in this summer’s NBA Draft.  Also, he had been a standout on defense, often being subbed in to defend one of the opposing team’s top scorers.

The Magic have already been missing a frontcourt presence with Kyle O’Quinn missing the last ten games with a sprained left ankle.  In Gordon’s absence, Maurice Harkless and Andrew Nicholson could see greater playing time.
