Aaron Rodgers’ incredible Hail Mary TD forces overtime (video)

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers did the unthinkable in Saturday night’s Divisional Round matchup against the Arizona Cardinals: He successfully completed two Hail Mary passes for touchdowns in the same season.

It’s one thing to toss a Hail Mary against a lackluster Lions defense that only rushed three players and generated no pressure at all on Rodgers back in December, but it’s another to blitz six and get to the Packers quarterback yet he still managed to do the near-impossible to make them pay.

Faced with one final heave from the Cardinals’ 41-yard line, the Packers had one last chance to force overtime, trailing 20-13. Arizona elected to bring pressure and nearly sacked Rodgers, but he managed to loft one toward the end zone while falling backward and absorbing a hit right after he released the ball. Jeff Janis, who had his coming-out party and hauled in seven catches for 145 yards (2 TDs), elevated and hauled in the pass over Patrick Peterson to stun NFL fans around the world.

Never count out Rodgers, no matter the situation. That was one of the top plays in NFL playoff history.
