Early reports suggest the Los Angeles Rams—who moved up to the top of the 2016 NFL draft in a shocking trade on Thursday morning—are targeting North Dakota State quarterback Carson Wentz with the first overall pick.
So, as @Bachelors_III wryly points out, the NFL in LA goes to Carson after all. Rams are targeting Carson Wentz.

The Rams sent picks No. 15, 43, 45 and 76 in this year’s draft, plus a first-round pick and third-round pick in next year’s draft, to the Titans for the first overall selection. In addition to the top pick, Los Angeles also received the No. 113 and 177 picks from Tennessee.
Two weeks from the start of the first round, Wentz appears to be the big prize for the Rams.
The North Dakota State star threw for 45 touchdowns and 14 interceptions over four years for the Bison. Tall and athletic with a big arm, Wentz has drawn comparisons to the likes of Blake Bortles and Ben Roethlisberger.
While Jeff Fisher and the Rams spent all offseason professing an interest in Case Keenum as the team’s starting quarterback for 2016, few teams in the NFL need more help at the position. Rams quarterbacks threw 11 touchdowns and 11 interceptions—with a passer rating of just 74.0—during the 2015 season.
The other quarterback option for the Rams would be Cal’s Jared Goff.
