Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller destroyed everyone and everything in his path in the AFC Championship game and Super Bowl 50. It’s no wonder why he won MVP in the big game, recording 2.5 sacks (forcing fumbles on two of those), and another 2.5 sacks in the AFCCG.
Teammate Chris Harris believes Miller has earned a raise — a big one, in fact. Harris appeared on Thursday’s edition of “NFL Total Access” and said Miller deserves to be the highest defensive player in the league.
“Oh, easy,” Harris said. “J.J. Watt doesn’t have a ring. Von has a ring, and he’s the (Super Bowl) MVP. The way he’s been able to lead us with his rushing ability. I mean, he still has a lot left. He still has a lot of improvement to do to get better.”
Watt is currently averaging roughly $16 million per year, while Suh’s new deal netted him an average of $19 million/year. Whether or not Miller tops that, it sure looks like he’s about to cash in — big-time.
