Super Bowl 51 Odds

Since Peyton Manning is due to retire we will go out on a limb and predict that the Denver Broncos probably will not repeat in Houston, Texas this year. Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers came in as a 5.5 point favorite and the public bet heavily on them but Denvers defense was just too strong.

The best sports handicappers in the world cashed in. Including Jon Price who came out publicly on Covers.com and predicted the big win there and in early September in the Huffington Post.

So to prepare for the 2016-2017 NFL betting season we want to get a quick head start. NRG Stadium is the host for the next big game that kicks off on February 5, 2017. Here are the top 5 teams predicted to win the big game next football season by both the experts and the top oddsmakers in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Number 1 team to win the 2017 Super Bowl is…The New England Patriots.

Very badly hurt by late season injuries, the Pats (+750)  finished last season with a 3-5 Straigh Up and Against the spread record in their final 8 games. They lost to the Denver Broncos in the AFC championship game but only by a hair.

Tom Brady is relentless and so is head coach Bill Belichick. The core of their team will be back and nobody helps scouting draft great players like Brady does for the Pats. With no major players going up as free agents it’s going to be another great year for the Pats.

Runner Up…Denver Broncos. Currently set at +900 surprises some but with the same core defense and a strong showing this past season from Brock Osweiler is a reason for those odds. Super Bowl LI as it’s being termed in Roman Numerals is still anybody game. Well anybody except the Cleveland Browns according to the oddsmakers putting them at a 200 to 1 chance to win it all.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are a surprise at +900 as they finished in second place in the AFC North division behind the Cincinnati Bengals but beat them in the first round of the AFC wildcard this year. If Big Ben and running back Le’von Bell can stay healthy then they will be a threat to be reckoned with.

Next up is the team that everybody expected to head into it’s third straight superbowl but came up very short. Which team? The pacific NW’s Seattle Seahawks who are +1000 currently. Now that Marshawn Lynch has retired they drop a few notches but watch a strong draft choice prop up in the 2016-2017 NFL season. Thomas Rawls also seems to be a great replacement. Only thing left to ensure a playoff run for them is a strong O-Line to protect start studded QB Russell Wilson.

The Panthers are still a top contender and don’t let their disappointing superbowl performance scare you. They plan to make up for it next year. Who do you think will win the super bowl this year?
