Super Bowl Babies serenade viewers in new commercial

The NFL is either trying to tell us that Super Bowl victories increase birth rates, or that Libras and Scorpios are really good singers.

In a new NFL commercial featuring Seal, set to the music of “Kiss from a Rose,” a choir of “Super Bowl babies” sing about how their parents’ favorite teams won the Super Bowl and that they were conceived as part of the celebration.

Since the Super Bowl has gone from a mid-January event to an early-February event, the birthday range of these people is mid-October (Libra) to early November (Scorpio).

The commercial includes two-year-old offspring of Seahawks fans, sons and daughters of Packers fans from the Vince Lombardi era and several Super Bowl babies in between. They’re all wearing robes in their team’s colors.

So while Colorado or North Carolina will see an increase in procreation Sunday night, whichever city doesn’t will instead see an increase in baby-like crying.

And yes, that is Seal in the commercial and not Seal doppelganger and former Jaguars quarterback David Garrard.
