Social media managers need to always doublecheck their tweets before hitting the ‘submit’ button. And the Chicago Blackhawks learned that lesson the hard way tonight.
During Game 7 of the Kings-Blackhawks series, with Chicago winning 4-3, they attempted to use the “#CHIvsLAK” hashtag in a tweet.
Unfortunately, they fell victim to Twitter’s hashtag autofill feature, and typed “#ChingueAsuMadreEPN” instead. That translates to “f*** your mother,” and EPN is Mexico’s president Enrique Peña Nieto, according to Deadspin.
The tweet has since been deleted, but it was still pretty funny.
