8 crazy stats from Week 15

The 15th week of the 2014 NFL season will forever be remembered for Johnny Manziel’s debut. And it couldn’t have gone worse in every way imaginable.

244-53: The rushing yardage scoreboard between the Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns. Jeremy Hill chugged for 148 yards and two touchdowns.

5.9: Hill’s average yards per carry.

106-9: The overall yardage scoreboard in that game also wasn’t pretty… after the first quarter.

1: The amount of Johnny Manziel completions that resulted in a gain of over 10 yards. Manziel threw for only 80 yards on his 18 pass attempts.

271-102: Another quite gross yardage scoreboard, this time from the first half between the Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots. Miami is represented by the much larger number, yet somehow they still trailed 14-13 (the Dolphins eventually lost 41-13).

4.4: Aaron Rodgers’ yards per attempt during a surprise sputtering loss to the Bills. His YPA prior to Week 15? Oh, just 8.8.

127.3: Odell Beckham Jr.’s average receiving yards per game over the last four weeks, a pace boosted by his 143 yards with three touchdowns during a win over the Washington Redskins. He’s quite entertaining.

4: The amount of 20-plus yard catches for Dez Bryant. He finished with six total receptions during a key divisional win over the Philadelphia Eagles, meaning he was covering a rather significant portion of the field on each grab (19.0 yards).

About Sean Tomlinson

Hello there! This is starting out poorly because I already used an exclamation point. What would you like to know about me? I once worked at a mushroom farm, which is sort of different I guess (don't eat mushrooms). I'm pretty wild too, and at a New Year's Eve party years ago I double-dipped a chip. Oh, and I write about football here and in a few other places around the Internet, something I did previously as the NFL features writer and editor at The Score. Let's be friends.
