Well we thought we were going to keep the voting open a little longer but the first round yielded very little bracket busting drama.
Advancing to our Elite Eight on one side of the bracket we have:
Bob Uecker as Harry Doyle in Major League with a whooping 98% of the vote over Jim Rome and Chris Berman in The Longest Yard.
Barry Tompkins in Rocky IV with 57% of the vote over Bob Miller in D2 The Mighty Ducks.
Al Michaels, Frank Gifford, and Dan Dierdorf in Jerry Maguire with 59% over Chick Hearn in Fletch.
Jim Nantz in Tin Cup with 73% of the vote over Marv Albert in The Fish That Saved Pittsburgh.
On the other side of the bracket we have:
Mel Allen, Curt Gowdy, Dick Enberg, Dick Vitale, Tim McCarver, and Jim Palmer in The Naked Gun with 66% over John Madden and Pat Summerall in The Replacements.
Brent Musburger and Dan Fouts in The Waterboy advancing with 59% of the vote over Vin Scully in For Love Of The Game.
Verne Lundquist in Happy Gilmore moving on with 89% over Dick Vitale In Blue Chips.
Al Michaels and Bob Costas in Baseketball advancing with 74% over Chris Schenkel in Kingpin.
And now on to our Elite Eight matchups. Remember again, the criteria is ““The cameo that added the most added value to the movie in question. Not the best movie, or longest cameo, or your favorite announcer, but simply who added the most value to the movie in question.”
