If you visited ESPN.com over the weekend, you may have noticed a slight change. The face of Bill Simmons is no longer present in the featured space that is given to Grantland. You can still see Nate Silver’s portrait as the face of FiveThirtyEight, but no sign of The Sports Guy.
It’s likely the first of several steps that finalize the termination of Simmons’ ESPN tenure. For what it’s worth, Simmons is still listed as the Editor-in-Chief on the Grantland masthead, but it might just be a matter of time till that’s a Google cache relic as well.
