New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith got sucker-punched by linebacker Ikemefuna Enemkpali on Tuesday in the locker room, and he will now reportedly miss 8-10 weeks with a broken jaw.

Vick is right, as it sure seems like Smith has faced a ton of adversity since the Jets drafted him in the second round of the 2013 draft. Enemkpali was way out of line and clearly has some issues for reacting how he did. Even though Smith has failed to live up to the expectations that come along with being a starting quarterback in the NFL, he certainly didn’t deserve to be punched, especially with this being the reason.
I.K Enemkpali broke Geno Smith's jaw over a $600 plane ticket. Giving up the 3 years he had left on a 4 year, $2.3 million deal SMH

Vick has a point in that this is a make-or-break year. It will be up to him to respond to the adversity and perform at the level the Jets hoped he would when they drafted him.
