It’s always fun to attend hockey games in person, and a recent game between UVA and VCU definitely fit the bill.
One particular fan at the game gave UVA’s goalie, Jake Anderson, a beer during the second intermission. Maybe that was part of Anderson’s plan to preserve his shutout, but whatever the reason, he received the beer and proceeded to chug it before the start of the third period.
But even though some of the fans were on board with it, that’s not really permitted by the NCAA, and Anderson was hit with a 5-minute major and ejected from the game.
Anderson was probably just looking to calm his nerves before the game’s final period so he could keep VCU scoreless.
