Philadelphia Eagles linebacker DeMeco Ryans was stuck with the worst assignment possible early in the first quarter of Monday night’s game against the New York Giants. Ryan was asked to cover wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., who was lined up in the slot on one particular play.
The result was a 13-yard touchdown for Beckham, and the Giants jumped out to an early 7-0 lead.
But Ryans would make up for it later in the quarter.
With the Giants deep in Eagles territory again on the drive that followed, Manning targeted tight end Larry Donnell for what would’ve been a one-yard gain. But Ryans, who was in coverage, swooped in and just took the ball out of Donnell’s hands and came away with the interception.
