Gerald McCoy and Henry Melton both are Buccaneers defensive linemen, but they’re not putting aside their college rivalry.
McCoy, who played at Oklahoma, had to wear Texas Longhorns gear in the locker room Thursday after Melton’s Longhorns defeated McCoy’s Sooners 24-17 on Oct. 10.
The Bucs had a bye last week, so McCoy couldn’t pay up on the bet until this week. That probably prolonged the agony.
McCoy managed a smile in his Instagram post, but the combination of wearing the burnt orange of Texas and having a microphone in his face appeared to bring McCoy pretty close to the boiling point.

McCoy just better hope the Buccaneers don’t break out their throwback creamsicle jerseys. Then the joke would be on both McCoy and Melton.
