It only took five games for the Kansas City Royals to defeat the New York Mets in the 2015 World Series.
They finished the deed in 12 innings on Sunday night with a 7-2 win after the Mets committed some costly mistakes late in the game, and Matt Harvey pitched one inning too many.
And when you win the World Series, you celebrate by popping champagne, so that’s what the Royals did.
They started by dousing manager Ned Yost in Gatorade.

The celebration then moved to the locker room, where plenty of champagne and beers were sprayed.
Royals superfan Paul Rudd was in the clubhouse, too, and the team noticed he was too dry, so they rectified that.

The celebration likely went on into the wee hours of the morning, because that’s what champions do.
