San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has been called many things: a loner, self-absorbed and lazy (as it relates to his work ethic).
Only Kap himself knows if any of those accusations actually apply, but reporters know him pretty well, too. They interact with him multiple times per week and have seen the 49ers quarterback both on and off the field.
Kaepernick was benched in favor of Blaine Gabbert this week, and he’ll now have to watch his team from the sideline. Lowell Cohn of the Santa Rosa Press Democrat decided this was a good time to air his thoughts on the 49ers quarterback, so he did.
And he did not hold back one bit.
u feel sorry for kaepernick? i don't

Kaepernick one of the most arrogant, rude athletes I ever covered in 35 years.

someone asked if bonds was arrogant. sure he was. but he could back it up. kap can't.

Clearly Cohn is trying to draw some attention to himself with these accusations. He did not cite any examples to go along with his tirade, and is kicking Kap while he’s down.
One thing is clear: Kaepernick is more of an introvert, and that’s not the norm for starting quarterbacks. Is he misunderstood? Absolutely. And as far as the other things that Cohn cited, that’s up to him and Kap to hash out.
