There’s no stopping the Cowboys now.
Tony Romo will return from his broken collarbone Sunday at Miami, and the Cowboys quarterback dropped a Major League reference on Twitter.

In the movie, the Cleveland Indians’ despised owner is a former showgirl who took over the team after the death of her husband. She assembles the worst roster possible so that attendance will tank and she can move the team to Miami. But to spite her the team goes from worst to first and makes the playoffs.
Given his movie-star looks, it’s easy to see Romo delivering a pep talk in the Cowboys locker room the way Tom Berenger does as veteran catcher Jake Taylor. Just as long as he doesn’t offer crownies.
It would take one wild script, however, for the Cowboys (2-7) to turn their season around and make the playoffs, let alone win the whole (bleep)ing thing.
The Cowboys are two and a half games behind the NFC East-leading Giants (5-5). So even if they run the table, that doesn’t guarantee they’ll win the division. Good thing, too, because who wants to see one piece of clothing come off a cardboard cutout of Jerry Jones after every win?
It’s hard to see a team with a minus-8 turnover differential winning the rest of its games even with Romo back. It’s more likely that workers at AT&T Stadium will have the same assessment at the end of the season as the fictional Indians grounds crew.
