A fan who attended Saturday’s LSU-Ole Miss game at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium appeared to be assaulted by police officers during the SEC matchup.

Holly Barnes claims her husband, Chris, was assaulted and suffered a concussion and orbital wall and maxillary sinus fractures from the incident.

A photo of a beaten-up Barnes has been making its way around social media.

As far as who’s to blame, the Oxford Police Department said the officers who were reportedly involved don’t work for the department, in a statement to College Football Talk’s Zach Barnett.

“The officers involved are not officers with the University Police Department, but are certified officers from other jurisdictions hired to work security at home football games.”

The video of the incident can be watched on Facebook [here]. It’s clear that Barnes was beaten up pretty badly by at least one officer, but what happened leading up to that point is unclear at this time.
