Matthew Stafford’s wife claimed on Instagram that the officials “screwed” the Lions with the facemask call that gave the Packers one extra play Thursday night in their 27-23 comeback win over the Lions.
Hey, Mrs. Stafford, it was a makeup call.
Your husband’s team should have been called for pass interference on the previous play when Isa Abdul-Quddus was covering Jared Abbrederis. The Packers would have had the ball inside the Lions’ 30-yard line with six seconds left needing just a field goal to win.
Had the phantom facemask not been called, perhaps Kelly Stafford’s NFC North counterpart Olivia Munn would have taken to social media to say that HER husband’s team was screwed.
