Unless the Cleveland Browns plan on keeping Johnny Manziel around in 2016, they are making a big mistake in not starting him these final five games of the season.

It’s another lost season for the Browns, but they can take this opportunity to figure out once and for all, if Johnny Manziel is their QB of the future.

I agreed with bumping him down from starter to backup QB last Thursday, but not all the way down to 3rd string QB. They missed a chance to put Manziel in there after Josh McCown got hurt, and see if he could drive his team downfield in the 4th quarter, but instead, he sat on the bench as the crowd chanted “Johnny! Johnny!”.

Now with McCown’s season over, Cleveland once again pulled the rug out under Johnny’s feet, naming Austin Davis the starting QB. I’ve got no problems with Austin Davis, I think he’s a legit QB in the NFL, however Cleveland at this time, isn’t in a position to just “finish the season”, they have issues to work out, the biggest being who will be their QB next season, and going forward.

As it stands right now, the Browns are looking at the No. 2 overall pick in next year’s NFL Draft.

There could be several top notch QBs forgoing their Senior year, including Memphis QB Paxton Lynch and California’s Jared Goff.

Cleveland needs to figure out the Manziel issue once and for all, but then again, this is the Cleveland Browns we are talking about. They’ll find someway to mess this up.

Manziel will probably get traded to Dallas where he’ll flourish throwing to Dez Bryant and Jason Witten while the Browns will go back to square one drafting another QB.

At some point, it isn’t the QBs you are picking that are busts Cleveland, it’s the front office that is making those selections that are busts.
