Mississippi State defensive lineman Chris Jones was given the chance to show his stuff at the NFL Scouting Combine this weekend, but he showed way more than he would have liked to the folks in Indianapolis and on live television.
Jones ran the 40-yard dash on Sunday and suffered a major wardrobe malfunction toward the end, with the crotch of his spandex shorts ripping apart mid-sprint. To add insult to injury, Jones tripped over his own feet and fell. And it was all captured on the NFL Network.

Probably not the way Jones envisioned the most important job interview of his career going. But there was a bright side:
Wardrobe malfunction aside, Chris Jones running a 1.7 10-yd split at 310 pounds should be one of the top stories of the morning

Jones had some explosion coming out of his stance, and scouts will definitely take notice of that when doing player evaluations for this year’s draft. It’s too bad it had to come at the expense of an embarrassing situation, though.
