Los Angeles Lakers guard D’Angelo Russell gave the Warriors a taste of their own medicine during Sunday’s 112-95 win.
Yes, you read that right. The Lakers, as 17.5-point underdogs, pulled off the enormous upset and somehow managed to hold the Warriors to under 100 points. The main reason for that was because Golden State was ice-cold from the perimeter, and made just four three-pointers of the 30 they attempted.
Speaking of long-distance shooting, Russell drained three of the seven three-pointers he attempted, and he made sure to let everyone know after making one of those in the second quarter of the game.
The Warriors (especially Stephen Curry) are known for getting under their opponents’ skin by celebrating shots before they go in, and that’s exactly what Russell did. He popped out to get open and put up a three-pointer, which he obviously knew was good, and turned to the crowd and spun around while it was on its way to the basket.
Russell doesn’t lack confidence or swagger, that’s for sure.
