It’s not that Tom Condon didn’t try to get Sam Bradford traded. He did. It just didn’t happen that way.

Condon, the agent for the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback, said on The Rich Eisen Show Wednesday he tried to get Bradford traded to the Denver Broncos, but the teams “couldn’t agree on a price” for the veteran quarterback.

Bradford requested a trade after the Eagles traded up to the No. 2 pick in the draft to select a quarterback, North Dakota State’s Carson Wentz. The Broncos reportedly inquired about Bradford, but they ultimately moved on and selected Memphis’ Paxton Lynch with their first-round draft pick, slamming the door on the Bradford-to-Denver possibility.

It was then that Bradford rescinded his trade demand and rejoined the Eagles after a two-week absence.

“We thought we had a chance to go to a really good football team and be there for a long time,” Condon explained. “And that opportunity was there and actually the attempt was made. When the Broncos contacted the Eagles and talked about the trade, they couldn’t agree on the price and so they drafted somebody in the first round. Now, at that point, our options are pretty limited. So our next best option is to go back and prepare for the season.”

Although he’s been named the starter for the 2016 season, Bradford’s stay in Philadelphia is expected be a short one with Wentz waiting in the wings.
