It’s been a quarter-century since voters agreed to pay for Globe Life Park (1991), which doesn’t seem all that long ago, but the team may be playing in a new stadium soon.
Arlington has been doing its best to make sure they keep the Rangers in the coming years, and now, it looks like they’ll be upgrading and building a new stadium–expected to open no later than the 2021 season, which would be three years before the team’s current contract to play at Globe Life expires.
Here’s what it may look like, in relation to Globe Life.

The agreement would be a 50-50 split and cost the city $500 million. It will be voted on by the Arlington City Council next week.
Have to wonder if the pressure from the neighboring stadium, JerryWorld, had anything to have to do with the urgency to build a newer, more flashy venue.
