If you thought Steven Adams was hairy now, wait till you see him next season.
The Oklahoma City Thunder held exit interviews Wednesday and Adams was asked what he’ll look like next season after growing out his hair this season.
“Like Chewbacca, mate,” Adams told reporters. “Just hair everywhere.”
Picture this in a Thunder uniform next season.
Who wouldn’t want Chewbacca from Star Wars playing for them?
Adams’ handlebar mustache and man bun made him a cult hero during the Thunders’ playoff run, which ended Monday in a Game 7 loss to the Golden State Warriors. He averaged 10.1 points and 9.5 rebounds in the postseason while playing through the pain of being kicked in the groin multiple times among other things.
Still just 22 years old, Adams should continue to improve. Thunder teammate Serge Ibaka said during exit interviews Adams “is going to be a monster.”
He probably didn’t mean in appearance, though.
