Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather could still happen.

The blockbuster cross-sport fight first popped up as an idea earlier this year when Mayweather and his camp name dropped McGregor, he of an unmatchable personal brand and almost likewise in-Octagon presence. The globe seemed to flirt with the idea, but talks eventually settled down even though McGregor was in the middle of his odd standoff with UFC.

Head coach John Kavanagh just revealed what it will take to get the fight to happen, according to Fox Sports’ Damon Martin:

There was talk that Conor would get $7 million and Floyd would get the rest of it. It will be an even share or Conor will not do it. There is no one generating the type of media that Conor is,” Kavanagh told the Business Post in Ireland during a recent tour for his new book “Win or Learn.

The coach was also quick—of course—to point out his fighter wouldn’t lose:

Floyd is amazing. He is incredible. I don’t think there is a boxer who could beat him. He has figured out boxing, but Conor doesn’t move like a boxer.

The debate might have to continue as is because McGregor continues to prep for his bout with Nate Diaz at UFC 202. Mayweather continues to bask in retirement with only a giantic payday able to pull him out.

By the sounds of it, the man nicknamed Money might be the holdup in one the globe’s most popular theoretical fights.
