Peyton Manning isn’t getting much done in retirement.
That is, based on new commercials featuring the former Denver Broncos and Indinapolis Colts quarterback recently released by DirecTV.
In the first, he’s just another guy at the park. Well, until he encounters an older gentleman who tells him to work as long as he can:
In the second, the poor guy heads to the grocery store and nobody understands who he is while looking at the No. 18 in the checkout lane:
Last, Manning tries to get friends on the phone. No dice:
The globe knew Manning would continue to knock it out of the park with commercials and that some new offerings would heavily feature his retirement and how he’s dealing with being away from football.
Nobody, though, could have predicted they’d be this stellar right away.
Luckily for Manning, it’s hard to imagine his retirement life is going the way his fictional commercial self gets displayed. He rode off into the sunset with a Lombardi Trophy as one of the best to ever do it and now gets to make hilarious commercials for fun.
The biggest winners are the fans. Don’t expect Manning to go anywhere anytime soon, not when he keeps making hits like this.
