Pat McAfee doesn’t beleive in your random drug testing, NFL.
In a part-brag, part-expose of a post on Twitter Monday, the Indianapolis Colts punter showed a letter he received from the NFL and the strange circumstances surrounding it.
The letter in question:

Indeed, McAfee blasted a 67-yard punt in his team’s preseason opener.
McAfee later elaborated with another post:
I’m not in “the program”.. I just have a cannon that rings some alarms I assume.. T’is quite the compliment. https://t.co/qJiaWKbc7A

Given all this context, the random test doesn’t seem so random.
Of course, this isn’t the first time a random test has come up in such a light. But it’s important to remember fans will only hear about the silly ones, with the normal-timed tests going unposted on social media. It’s also important to remember pro players are always accomplishing amazing feats, so getting a test after a feat isn’t so out of the ordinary every now and then.
Either way, kudos to McAfee for the elite right leg as usual, as well as the smooth bragging skills.
