Terrance Knighton had some strong words after his release from the New England Patriots Monday.
Arguably the biggest cut yet, Knighton had signed a deal with the Patriots this offseason as a free agent, a move the team made to presumably reinforce the middle of the field.
Knighton took to Twitter to express his gratitude for his time with the organization:
Great respect for Robert Kraft and bill Belichick. Learned some things from my time here.

It’s a smart move by Knighton, especially because he’s only 30 years old and shouldn’t have any problems landing with another franchise quickly. He’s served as a strong presence on the defensive line in locales such as Denver, Jacksonville and Washington over the years.
Knighton, though, didn’t play a snap in New England’s third preseason game as others on the depth chart seemed to pass him by. Given the depth there, it’s not hard to see why.
NESN provided some context from Bill Belichick:
Terrance Knighton worked hard but “just didn’t work out” with the Pats, Bill Belichick said. https://t.co/PE9C7dx4XE pic.twitter.com/mYo3izbdTA

It’s a strong review for the defensive tackle who looks like a strong signing for a team in need. Expect it sooner rather than later.
