Both Stephen Curry and Colin Kaepernick have provided the Bay Area with plenty of breathtaking moments over the years.
Furthermore, they’re both fairly candid as far as weighing in on issues both on and off the court/field. Kap, however, has taken things to the next level — sitting down during the national anthem before the 49ers’ last two exhibition games.
The response Kap has gotten has been quite polarizing, drawing support from some and ire from others. Curry, however, praised Kaepernick for standing up for his beliefs, in a recent interview with CNBC’s Sara Eisen.
“I love that there is freedom of speech and he can stand for what he believes in,” Curry said. “There’s going to be people that disagree with him, and there’s going to be people that agree with him, which is what I think our country stands for. Hopefully (it) will drive the conversation to bettering the equal rights and treatment of African Americans and people of color.”
Bay Area love at its finest.
