Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz watched his team play at Petco Park for the final time on Wednesday night, and he received a clever gift from the Padres beforehand.
While Ortiz didn’t actually play in the game, as the Red Sox were worried about him possibly suffering an injury playing in the field, the Padres still held a ceremony before the game to pay tribute to the first baseman’s illustrious career.
Ortiz has received some pretty great gifts so far this year during his retirement tour, but the Padres took things to the next level. They gifted him a surfboard that featured a large silhouette of Ortiz on the front of it.

The Red Sox won the game, 7-2, but the real winner was Big Papi.
