With David Ortiz playing the final game of his career at Camden Yards on Thursday, the Baltimore Orioles thought it funny to gift the Boston Red Sox slugger with the dugout phone he smashed in a game on July 27, 2013.
The Orioles’ Adam Jones presented Ortiz with the phone in a special ceremony prior to the game to pay tribute to Big Papi, who is retiring after this season.

Who could forget David Ortiz’s most destructive hit at Oriole Park? Our visiting dugout phone! pic.twitter.com/mGSTHEOuYE

In addition to the phone, the Orioles were also kind enough to make a donation in Ortiz’s name.
The Orioles also presented a $10,000 check to The @WorldPediatric Project in David Ortiz’s name to help critically ill children in the DR.

Ortiz has gotten a lot of retirement gifts on his farewell tour, but this is simply one of the best. Funny and thoughtful.
