It’s still about a week away before it’s time to start giving out free NBA picks against the spread but that doesn’t mean it’s too early to start looking at some storylines that could affect the upcoming season. Let’s breakdown a couple of storylines you should follow as the season gets into full gear.
How will Westbrook and Harden do together?
Westbrook and Harden are back together for the second time in their careers but at this point they are in a different part of their careers. These two played together from 2009-12 but at that time Harden was coming off the bench, and Westbrook was starting. Harden was just just budding into a star and now he is the leader of the Rockets.
Now that both of these guys are superstars how will they work together? The same questions were asked about Chris Paul and Harden and they seemed to work it out.
Will Harden and Westbrook be able to do the same thing? Or will their be some struggles, and in turn the Rockets will struggle.
How will the Warriors look?
The Warriors are going to look a lot different with Kevin Durant not on the squad anymore and Klay Thompson missing most of the season.Andre Iguodala also isn’t on the squad and he is also going to be really missed.
They brought in D’Angelo Russell and still have Draymond Green and Stephen Curry but this team still has a lot of questions.
With a tough Western Conference will they still be the top dog? Or will they be more of a middle of the pack team?
Who will win Los Angeles?
There are going to be a lot of exciting battles to watch but the most exciting might be who will be the better team in Los Angeles.
The Clippers and the Lakers both got better this offseason and they both feel like they can compete for a championship this year. The Lakers got Anthony Davis to join LeBron James while the Clippers got Paul George and Kawhi Leonard.
The two kick off the season against each other, but the Lakers will be without Anthony Davis so it might not be a good indication of who will win.
This is going to be a heated battle that could go all the way to the Western Conference Finals.
