The feel-good story of the week happened during Thursday’s Twins-Royals game at Kauffman Stadium.

The Royals invited Tom Willis—who was born armless—to “throw” out the first pitch before the game. But instead of throwing it, he delivered the ball to home plate with his foot.

It’s pretty amazing how he was able to grip the ball with his foot and hurl it toward the dish so accurately. He had an actual windup and everything.

The Royals’ mascot, Sluggerrr, called it a strike. And that’s enough for me. He certainly outshined 50 cent, John Wall, Baba Booey and the like.

Willis is in town for his Pitch for Awareness tour, which focuses on the abilities of people with disabilities.

Props to the Royals organization for reaching out to Willis—a lifelong MLB fan—to come out and open the game.
