Bob Costas is one of the best sports announcers of this generation, but his pitching skills could use some work.
He was invited to throw out the first pitch before Tuesday’s Reds-Cardinals game, and that’s exactly what he did.
But he missed so badly that he asked for and was given a second try. In fact, his initial attempt sailed so far left it almost hit a cameraman.

His second attempt was much better. Everyone needs a warm-up pitch, but only Costas is powerful enough to actually get one. The team’s mascot, Fredbird, congratulated him after it all went down. And Costas gave him a fist bump.

Jon Hamm’s first pitch at Busch Stadium on Monday night was much more impressive. But then again, Hamm is an absolute boss.
