Although he’s been relatively quiet this season, Detroit Lions DT Ndamukong Suh has a history of being involved in questionable plays that can come off as being “dirty” in nature.

Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers featured another one after Suh stepped on Packers QB Aaron Rodgers’ ankle in the fourth quarter of the NFC North matchup.

Rodgers was playing through a calf injury, which forced him to leave the game in the second quarter. After watching his team get outscored 14-0 in his absence, he returned midway through the third quarter and led the Packers on a touchdown drive in his first series back in the game.

The question here lies with Suh’s intent. While we don’t know for sure, it seems like Suh was attempting to inflict pain on Rodgers’ calf, as he clearly targeted the left ankle.

Suh could have stepped off the ankle when Rodgers first went down—but he didn’t. He made sure to continue applying pressure to it for a few extra seconds. It sure looked like this was no accident.
