The Indianapolis Colts announced quarterback Andrew Luck will be out 2-6 weeks with a lacerated kidney and abdominal injury on Tuesday. The news couldn’t come at a worse time for the team, as Luck was finally returning to form and looked as if he was recovered from a previous shoulder injury.
It happened early in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game against the Broncos, when Luck took off running and Danny Trevathan drilled him right in the gut with a textbook hit.
The injury shakes up the AFC South division race, as some of the AFC’s worst teams are still alive in the hunt for the division title. The (3-5) Texans are only one game back, with the (2-6) Jaguars and Titans nipping at their heels!
The Colts also said they have “all the confidence in the world” in Matt Hasselbeck, so there’s that.
