What Denver Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib did to Indianapolis Colts tight end Dwayne Allen was easily the stupidest action committed by an NFL player in Week 9 so far.

With the Colts leading the Broncos 27-24, and under three minutes remaining in the game, the Denver defense was looking to get a stop so Peyton Manning could get the football back with enough time to possibly work his magic for a late-game score.

But Manning never got his chance, and Talib’s classless gesture was a huge reason why.

The Colts were faced with a 2nd-and-9 situation, and Frank Gore rushed for two yards, which was going to bring up a critical third down. However, Allen and Von Miller had some words after the play, and Talib made his way over to them and poked Allen in the eye.

Talib was hit with a personal foul for unnecessary roughness, giving the Colts a fresh set of downs. It was completely unnecessary and Talib will certainly hear about it from the Broncos’ coaching staff, and maybe a few of his teammates as well. There’s no place for that on the football field. Talib lost his temper and the Broncos paid for it.
