Ludacris recently appeared on ESPN’s His and Hers to talk about his new album, Ludaversal, which is set to be released on March 31.

He’s been relatively quiet about the album up to this point, so when he revealed that a track inspired by Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch would be on it, hosts Michael Smith and Jemele Hill were all ears.

Ludacris confirmed there’s a track on the album titled “Beast Mode,” and that Lynch was the inspiration behind it.

“It was inspired by Marshawn Lynch,” Ludacris said. “The same way he’s plowing down people in the field, I’m plowing down people in the music industry and all these rappers… It’s a song that has no hook. It’s just like, three minutes of just metaphors and just going in.”

The rapper then revealed that Lynch will be in the music video.

“We just shot the video with Marshawn, as a matter of fact,” he said. “I met him, and literally, within like two minutes, I felt like we were family. I don’t know what it is, he’s a real cool, real laid-back guy.”

So who else is pumped to see Lynch’s music video debut? Count me in.
