For many Major Leaguers, the off season gives them the opportunity to get healthy for the upcoming year. For others, it might be the right time to travel or pick up a hobby.
If you’re Brandon Crawford…you test out your acting chops.
On a recent trip to Los Angeles, the San Francisco Giants shortstop made a side journey to the Disney studios to tape an episode of “Liv and Maddie”. In the episode, Crawford will play himself.
“It was fun. It was an experience I don’t know if I’ll get again, so I’m glad I did it,” Crawford said. “At first I wasn’t really interested because acting isn’t my thing. (My wife) kind of convinced me to try it out. I’m glad I did it.”
This isn’t the first time a member of the Giants has showed up on the small screen. Not that long ago, former National League MVP Jeff Kent competed on the CBS show “Survivor’.
And in 2003, former infielder Rich Aurilia appeared as “Juror Number Nine” on the daytime soap opera “General Hospital”.
A decade later, Aurilia would pop back up on the Cowboy Lifestyle Network fronting his own cooking show.
