Sunday’s Jets-Giants game at MetLife Stadium featured yet another head-scratching call by an officiating crew, which has become quite common this season.
Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall took a swing at Giants cornerback Trumaine McBride in the first half of the game, for reasons that are unclear. Yet somehow, McBride was called for illegal hands to the face.
Somehow this was a penalty on McBride & @giants & not Brandon Marshall. File this one under the NFL WTF Refs file pic.twitter.com/lGNGUYlnmZ

So the punch Marshall delivered to McBride’s face was OK, but a bit of contact to the same area by the Giants cornerback was worth a penalty. That seems like flawed logic.
Marshall, somehow, was not ejected or even penalized for his actions.
