It’s been 40 years since Caitlyn Jenner, then Bruce, won a gold medal at the 1976 Olympics in Montreal. Her triumphant win in the decathlon was a historic moment for the United States, and few Americans that witnessed it can forget it.
While Bruce may be a thing of the past, since last year, when Jenner changed her first name to “Caitlyn,” it’s still worth commemorating. Sports Illustrated did an excellent job of that by putting her on the cover of this week’s edition of the popular magazine.

Caitlyn says “she loved Bruce” and that she “still loves him” today. But this is who she is now.
